RECEIPTS
PRIVACY POLICY

Everything stays on your phone.

UPDATED 1 NOV 2026

The Receipts app has no account, no server and no analytics. Your habits, your receipts and your photos live in the app on your device. The only thing this website keeps is the email you give the waitlist. This page says exactly what that means.

01What Receipts keeps

Receipts stores, on your device only:

  • Your habits: name, cue, time, rest days and weekly target.
  • Your receipts: the photo you snapped, the time, the habit it was filed under, and the day’s print.
  • Your profile: the name and profile photo you choose in Settings, if you add them.
  • Your settings: notifications, quiet hours, end of day and the coach’s plan changes.

All of it sits in the app’s own container on your iPhone or iPad. Widgets and the Live Activity read the same data through the app’s shared container on the device. Nothing is uploaded.

02No server, no account

Receipts does not have a backend. There is no sign-up, no login and no sync. The app never sends your habits, receipts or photos anywhere. The only network traffic the app makes is with Apple’s App Store, which handles subscriptions.

03The camera and your photos

Receipts asks for the camera so you can snap a receipt. The photo is saved inside the app. It is not added to your Photos library unless you choose to save or share a print, which is why the app also asks for permission to add to Photos.

The label the app suggests for a photo comes from Apple’s Vision framework, which runs entirely on the device. The photo is never sent to a server to be recognised.

04Notifications

Cue reminders, the Call, the Sunday review and the trial notice are local notifications scheduled on your device. Turning them off in Settings or in iOS stops them. No push server is involved.

05No tracking, no analytics

Receipts contains no analytics, no advertising SDK and no third-party code that reports anything. The app’s privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking domains. The only Apple API category it declares is user defaults, used to store the app’s own settings on your device.

06Subscriptions

Receipts Plus is sold through Apple. Apple handles payment, renewal and refunds. The app learns only whether a subscription is active. It never sees your card, your Apple Account email or your purchase history.

07Export and erase

Settings has an Export the Tape button that packages every photo and a spreadsheet of every receipt into a file you can save or send. Erase everything deletes every receipt, photo, habit and your profile from the device. Deleting the app does the same.

08Children

The Receipts app collects no personal data from anyone, including children. The waitlist is for people 13 and over.

09The waitlist

If you join the waitlist on this website, we keep your email address, the time you joined and, when the link you followed carries one, a short tag for where it came from, such as a TikTok link. It is stored on our own server and is not shared with or sold to anyone, and no analytics or advertising tools see it.

We use it for one thing: an email when Receipts launches. To be removed, write to [email protected] from that address and we delete it. The website sets no cookies; it remembers in your browser that you joined so the form doesn’t ask twice. Like most websites, our server logs the IP address and time of each request to keep out abuse.

10Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Questions go to [email protected].
